President’s Report – Bill Augustine
Fall days are here and the time change is going to significantly change the length of our golf days! We hope for a few more “Indian Summer” days so we can get out and enjoy one or two more rounds of golf. Bring some friends along and enjoy lunch at the club. Thanks to everyone who has been enjoying dinner at the Club on Friday evenings. We look forward to continued good turnouts on Friday nights for the rest of the season.
The Board and I have been keeping the membership informed of the financial status of our club. Thanks to everyone who came to the informational meeting we held in October. The Board has carefully considered all the feedback; meeting weekly in preparation for our Annual Meeting. The input we received led to the options that are proposed for your vote at the Annual Meeting. One suggestion made is to start a 50/50 Raffle with the winner (must be present) drawn at the Annual Meeting. This is another method for you to support our club. Tickets are now available at the Club.
I want to emphasize the importance of each member being present at the Annual Meeting to vote on the critical issue that will determine the future of IOCC. You need to be present to vote, OR in the event you cannot attend the meeting, you can give your signed Proxy to a member who will vote as you would if you were in attendance. Our goal is to have 232 voting members represented.
Please consider the candidates you want to work for you on the Board to secure the future of IOCC. The notice of our Annual Meeting along with the list of candidates seeking board election and the dues and assessment options that will be voted on at the meeting, has been mailed to all our members. The decisions made at the Annual Meeting will determine the future of IOCC. We have a beautiful, well-maintained 9-hole course. Do you want to keep it?
Attend the Annual Meeting at IOCC on Monday, November 14 at 7:00 p.m. Come and show your commitment to the success of IOCC.

Manager’s Report – Anita O’Bryan
Even though the season is slowly drawing to an end, the golf course has just been so beautiful with all of the bright colors and the leaves falling. We still have a few diehards that are still golfing and we would like to have a few more, so please come out and enjoy the course while you can.
Please be aware that the restaurant and bar hours have changed a little. We will be serving meals on Monday through Thursday from 11 am – 2 pm, Friday 11 am – 8:30 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 11 am – 4 pm with breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday from 8 am – 11 am. So don’t be afraid to still come out and keep us company on these cool fall days.
The annual meeting is quickly approaching on November 14th and will be a big day for the club. This is a very important meeting for ALL of you members as the fate of this beautiful club will be in your hands.
We have had a pretty good year, but as always it could have been better. The course was in great condition all year long, so thank you to Rick and all of his hardworking staff. We had countless non-members come out that just could not get enough of what a beautiful well manicured course we have out here. Rick has now begun laying off his staff for the year, so once again thank you; you did a great job!
My staff will still be here until December 31st; just not on the same hours they have been all summer. Every single one of them has worked very hard in keeping the bar and restaurant open and going, so I would like to thank all of them for a great job done.
Adam again has done a super job in the pro shop this past year. Everyone seems to like the way he runs his outing and club events, as well as all of his emails and work on the website. Thanks Adam!
In closing I am going to stress this one more time….We do need you to come out and support this club!!
P.S. On Saturday November 19th we are looking into having some vendors here that will have great items on hand for holiday shopping. They will be here in the dining room from 11 am – 3 pm, so come on out and have lunch, a few drinks, and do a little shopping. There will be jewelry, purses, candles, Avon products, etc. so please put this on your calendar.
Anita.
Course Superintendent – Rick Haseman
Well even though we had a slow start due to the rain, and a hot dry summer, we had an overall very good year on the golf course. However, due to the lack of money we have, I had to let my help go earlier this year, than in year’s past; so I will still try my best to keep the greens mowed/blown off and have the fairways and roughs brought down as much as possible.
We had a great start to the month of October that brought out a lot of new faces as we got a little taste of an Indian summer. Now moving into November I think it is pretty safe to say that our good golf weather may finally be behind us; but don’t let that stop you from coming out, just put on more layers and play till the snow flies.
I would also like to thank Gary Kuhn and Joe Rud for donating their time once again to come out and put the wire mesh up around all of our new plantings. This is really a big help in keeping the deer and other wildlife away from our plantings during the long winter.
I’m really looking forward to next year already and let’s hope we have a better year in 2012. I will soon begin to tear down equipment and get it all ready for next spring so we can hit the ground running. I really hope to see you all back next year, you all have a great course out here, I would hate to lose any of you.
Pro Shop Manager – Adam Huber
Fall has quickly fallen upon us and our golfing days are slowly becoming numbered. So far however, it has been a relatively nice October and we have had our fair share of play on the course; having that “Indian Summer” to start the month really helped. Throughout those really nice days, I saw and talked to more new faces at the course than I probably had in the last two months combined; I would love to see the course packed like that every single day, of every single month all year round.
Congratulations to Sean and Keith Haag, Mick Hart, and Brandon Merchant for winning our 6th Annual Turkey Shoot on October 30th. A special thank you to everyone who participated in the event as the weather was very cold, rainy, and windy which definitely did not make everyone happy, but as always you guys still had a good time and made the best of the situation. I would also like to thank everyone who has played and participated in all of my events at the club all year long. It really means a lot to me to have all of you to come out and not only support the course but the pro shop as well…so THANK YOU!!
As long as I have the thank you train rolling, I would like to also thank Gail Storey, Matt Davis, and Will Poterek for all of their hard work and dedication they put into the pro shop this past season. Without these three people, the pro shop would not have run as smoothly as it did, and my events wouldn’t have run as smoothly as they did. Matt really did a great job helping me set up and organize my events, as well as helping me score the events when they were finished.
My “Year End Sale” has gone over very well, as there isn’t a lot of merchandise left in the shop. Everyone who walks in the shop now can’t get over how much is left compared to what I started the year with. Both our members and non members do a great job in supporting the shop and allowing me to have everything from Apparel to Balls to Gloves and etc. Depending what the future holds for our club, I will have new and exciting merchandise in the shop this upcoming 2012 season.
Don’t forget to come out and enjoy the Chicago Bears games on Sundays; we have two HUGE televisions that are perfect for watching all of your favorite games while you enjoy some food and a few drinks at the bar. BEAR DOWN!!
It has been a very fun and exciting year at the club and god willing we will all be back next year to do it all over again. I really enjoy being around each and every one of you; you make my job not only relatively easy but fun as well. I hope to see all of you back next year; I don’t know what I would do without Indian Oaks and our members.
See you all on the first tee. ~ Adam

By the time you read this our last event of the year, our 6th Annual Turkey Shoot, will have been played. Thank You to everyone who participated in all of our club events this year and hopefully there will still be a few good days in November to get a few more rounds in.
In looking back over the year we had some great tournaments with some great champions in all divisions and flights. I would personally like to thank Adam for his great work in our events, and for his tireless effort in getting us involved in the Lincoln Highway Tournament. That being said, we have to start looking at next year and beyond.
You have all received information on our financial problems so I am hoping to see all of you at our annual meeting on November 14th at 7pm to help give us some direction on how you want the club to proceed. See you then.

Don’t forget that the kitchen is still open from 11-2 during the week, 11-4 on the weekends, Friday night dinners from 5-8:30 and Sunday’s from 11-2.
We have had a great turnout all year long for Friday night dinners, so I would like to thank all of you for the support that you have given the bar and restaurant; it really means a lot.
I’m already looking into new ideas and new menu items for next year, I hope that I will have the opportunity to be back out at the course and have another great year in 2012.
